UK Tarot Conference 2023 - Card XX
Neil Kelso Presentation Notes

Hello lovely folks.

Thank you so much for stopping by - these are some additional notes and resources connected to my talk.

A HUGE thank you to the amazing Kim Arnold for everything. You're MAGIC! ❤️

Between Magical Worlds.
Magic can always be found where two worlds meet.

In this talk, I explore topics that have been interesting and useful to me in my journey as a Magician (of all kinds), Musician, Writer, Performer, and all-round Mischief-Maker. I don't guarantee it's all true, so do your own checking before relying on any of it 😉.

I heartily recommend you secure yourself a deck of Arcana 20 cards from the UK Tarot Conference Shop whilst stocks last!

An important part of my personal magical, spiritual, and creative practice is the intersection of Magic and Music. Everything can be understood in terms of vibrational energy. I explore it extensively in my theatre show "Sounds Impossible". You can learn more about that here: https://www.neilkelso.co.uk/si

I recently gave a talk on the subject of Tarot and Divination for the World Divination Association for their 2023 event DivinationPRIDE - championing LGBTQ+ voices in the Divination world, whilst also raising funds for the charity Outright International who do amazing work around the world.

In that talk, I give musical examples of what Zero sounds like. You can watch it on YouTube here: Neil Kelso DivinationPride talk

If you find it useful or interesting, please consider making a contribution to

https://outrightinternational.org and/or please at least read about their work, and consider following them on social media, or helping raise awareness about LGBTQIA+ human rights.

In exploring the Judgement Card XX, one of the things that always sings to mind for me is the wonderful mathematical paradox that is often called Gabriels' Horn, or Torricelli's Trumpet (after Evangelista Torricelli). It's a mind-blowing bit of maths, and nobody explains it better than my friend the brilliant Dr Tom Crawford (follow TomRocksMaths and Numberphile for more amazing content!):

And if you're feeling brave, you might like to check out the stories about King Tut's trumpets, which look a lot like the ones shown in Tarot:

https://www.classicfm.com/discover-music/king-tutankhamun-trumpet-oldest-in-existence/

also mentioned a wonderful example from 2011 of an organisation that realised that their message of kindness and calling-in could have a much better result if they timed the delivery of that message to not be competing against loud messages of fear/divisiveness, and to relocate the conversation from a peer-pressure environment to a more homely and reflective location. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2011/aug/10/german-right-wing-fans-tshirts

In the run-up to the conference, Kim invited attendees to suggest songs that they connect to the Judgement Card. I put them all into a Spotify playlist, and you can have a listen via the below link. Which do you agree with? Which surprised you? Are there any tracks you think I should add?

If you would like to support me and my work, please consider treating yourself to one of my limited edition hand-carved which I print by hand. So far I have made prints of The Fool, The Magician, and Judgment. You can purchase them via the links below. Or if there are other cards you'd like me to do next, please get in touch!

Each print is made by hand, from linocut blocks I have carved myself, and they are printed using ink on cotton rag handmade paper. The prints are signed and numbered, and are mounted in a mount board frame measuring 6"x8" so are ready to install in a standard 6" x 8" (A5 size) picture frame. The frames shown above are for illustration only. Please note that each print is slightly different because they are made by hand, so each is unique, and that is part of the charm of the work. Each print comes with a certificate of authenticity.

The special UKTC price per print is £45.00

Shipping to UK is £5.00 and International shipping is £10.00

To purchase multiples, please contact me with quantities and I will calculate the correct shipping for you.

If you are comfortable sending the payment as "friends and family", it reduces the admin charges, and every little helps and is gratefully received.
